Phenomenology focuses obsessively on thinking about the way the world exists through deeply thoughtful descriptions of phenomena. There is a foil here to the idea of corrosiveness of words. Yukio Mishima may say “Describe it all you like, but the words are still abstractions - corrosive to the true reality.” You can not experience music by describing it. Only by listening with your entire being.
