Technology is constantly becoming more and more ingrained in our society. It is increasingly important in business, academia, and even creative work. This is good as it means we can do our jobs in increasingly fast, efficient, or optimized ways.
However technology is also always improving, changing, or being revolutionized. So the skills that were once allowed for competence in maneuvering an app or method of doing work, become outdated as fast as technology changes.
Ultimately, what this means, is that in order to thrive in our jobs, in our society, we need to be able to learn or relearn very complicated skills on a regular basis. It’s not easy, it requires high levels of focus, but it’s absolutely imperative to remaining relevant to the demands of the labor market.
