We often operate through life as if we are free. We set goals, make plans, and have ambitions for the future. But in reality we know all of this is pointless in a large sense because we will die. Death holds us captive to any lasting decisions.

Yet, accepting that we will die, means more than our decisions being pointless. It also means that we don’t have to do anything. We will die, and thus we can do as we please.
